Parish Council Minutes for Tuesday, March 25, 2008
Joe Shriver – Thanked all for hard work in Easter prep. All went well and totally enjoyable service. Want to capture what went well and what changes need to be made, example: parking, sign re Mass has started, etc. Sign up sheet for cleaning church was proposed. Mentioned by some at the Spanish mass. Sanctuary etiquette needs to be brought to everyone’s attention. Need a ‘crying room’. Mass liturgical schedule has been made up through May 08.
Father Jay – Mentioned Mass times and RE plans to fit all. Talked about interested parties, but nothing solid yet for the GF church.
Mission statement – Lyn, Dianne and Carmella will finalize on the Mission Statement and present to the Parish Council at the next meeting, which was change to Wednesday, April 30. Will be presented to the parish during the month of May.
Juan – Lots of people attending the Spanish mass, so going well. Choir – Wed. April 30 – Wed. May 28. Resources available for training. Need others to step up and have someone on board for leadership meeting and music. Juan will solicit for this backup.
Steve – Catholic Appeal – will have same goals as last year which is approx $19K. Any over is being used for the kitchen and the hall. Have china from Perpetual Help stored at Marie’s. Cascade fence will do an arbor and small picket fence in the front courtyard.
Ed – Will plan to have pictures and design of the proposed picnic shelter. Proposal is to have a kitchen built into it.
Bill – Help from all was amazing. Will work on Outreach in April. Trailer will receive a deck. All on schedule. Sound system and TV work great for overflow.
Youth Group – Mother’s Day auction planned for Saturday, May 10. Approved for Parish Council to put together a wine basket or even have a wine rack included. All to bring the wine to council meeting in April.
***Next meeting: Wednesday, April 30 at 6:30pm, new admin conference room. Remember to bring a bottle of wine.
